3. Booking and payment
- Lessons are booked in advance at a time agreed with Anna.
- Single lessons are paid before or on the day of the lesson.
- Lesson packages are paid in full before the first lesson of the package.
- Regular weekly slots are available by agreement.
- Any travel fee for home visits is confirmed before booking.
4. Lesson packages
- A package is five lessons of the chosen length.
- Package lessons should be used within the period agreed when booking.
- Packages are for one student and cannot be transferred unless agreed in advance.
- Once a package has started, unused lessons are not normally refundable or exchangeable for cash.
5. Cancelling or moving a lesson
- Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or move a lesson.
- With 24 hours' notice or more, the lesson can be moved to another time, subject to availability.
- With less than 24 hours' notice, or if the student does not attend, the full lesson fee is normally charged, or the lesson is counted as used from a package.
- Please tell Anna in advance about planned holidays if you have a regular weekly slot.
6. If Anna cancels
If Anna needs to cancel a lesson, you will be offered either a replacement lesson at a time that suits you, or a full refund for that lesson.
7. Punctuality
Please arrive on time. If a student arrives late, the lesson will normally finish at the agreed time, and the full fee still applies.
8. Practice and progress
Regular practice between lessons makes a big difference. Anna will give clear practice guidance, and parents are encouraged to help younger children keep a short daily routine. Progress depends on each student's goals, attendance and practice.
9. Children and safeguarding
- Anna is a member of the PVG Scheme, which checks people who work with children in Scotland.
- Lessons for students under 18 must be booked by a parent or guardian.
- Parents and guardians are responsible for bringing children to and collecting them from lessons on time.
- For home visits, a parent, guardian or responsible adult must be present in the home during the lesson.
- For online lessons with children, a parent or guardian should be nearby.
10. Respectful learning environment
Lessons are a welcoming, respectful and encouraging space. Anna may end or decline lessons if behaviour towards her or other people is abusive or unsafe.
11. Ending lessons
You can stop lessons at any time. There is no term contract. Unused package lessons follow section 4.
12. Liability
Anna takes reasonable care during all lessons. Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot legally be limited, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
13. Changes and law
These terms may be updated from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version. They are governed by the law of Scotland.
