Privacy policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information ANNA PIANO LESSONS collects, why, and how it is protected. It is written to meet the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
ANNA PIANO LESSONS is run by Anna-Mariia Hryhoriak, a self-employed piano teacher based in Glasgow, Scotland. She is the data controller for the information described here.
Contact: hello@annapianolessons.co.uk
What we collect
- From the booking form: your name, phone number, your child's age, piano level and preferred lesson day.
- When you email us: your email address and anything you include in the message.
- If lessons go ahead: the student's name, lesson times, progress notes, payments, and, for home visits, the lesson address.
We only ask for what is needed to arrange and teach lessons. Please do not send sensitive information (for example, health details) unless it is needed to teach your child safely, such as an additional learning need you would like Anna to know about.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry and arranging a free first lesson | Steps before entering a contract, at your request |
| Teaching lessons, scheduling, and taking payment | Performance of a contract |
| Keeping financial records | Legal obligation (tax) |
| Keeping the website secure and free of spam | Legitimate interests |
| Measuring visits and the results of our Facebook and Instagram ads (Meta Pixel) | Consent |
We never sell your information, and we will not send you marketing messages unless you ask to receive them.
Children's information
Lessons for children under 18 are arranged by a parent or guardian. We only hold the information about your child that is needed to teach them, and we share lesson updates with the parent or guardian who booked.
Who processes your information
We use a small number of trusted services to run the website and handle enquiries:
- Cloudflare hosts this website and processes the booking form.
- Telegram delivers booking-form enquiries to Anna as a private message.
- Google provides email (Gmail) and the fonts used on this website.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) provides the Meta Pixel, used only if you accept cookies (see below).
Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where this happens, they use safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to lessons are deleted within 6 months.
- Student and lesson records are kept while lessons continue, and for up to 12 months after they end.
- Payment records are kept for as long as UK tax law requires (normally up to 6 years).
Cookies and the Meta Pixel
When you first visit, we ask whether you accept cookies. If you choose "No thanks", no tracking runs.
If you choose "Accept", we load the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. It sets cookies and tells Meta that you visited this website and, if you send the booking form, that a request was made. It does not send Meta the details you type into the form. We use this to understand how many people visit and to measure our Facebook and Instagram adverts. Meta may combine this with information it holds about you if you use its services; see Meta's privacy policy.
You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of the home page. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage.
The fonts on this website are downloaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your device's IP address when the page loads.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to receive it in a portable format. To make a request, email hello@annapianolessons.co.uk. We will reply within one month.
Changes to this policy
